The venue opened in August 1994 as Harbor Lights Pavilion, a concert tent near Fan Pier, on the ground where the federal courthouse now stands. It closed after the 1998 season because of land rights, and the structure moved to its current site on Northern Avenue and reopened in July 1999. Sources differ on the exact years it carried Bank of Boston branding in the late 1990s.
After that, the sponsor name changed several times, and each name refers to this same Northern Avenue venue:
- FleetBoston Pavilion, 2000 to 2004
- Bank of America Pavilion, 2004 to 2013
- Blue Hills Bank Pavilion, 2014 to 2019
- Rockland Trust Bank Pavilion, 2019 to 2021

That is why old tickets, reviews and photos may say Bank of America, Blue Hills or Rockland Trust while describing the place that is now Leader Bank Pavilion.

- Bags: Only clear plastic or vinyl tote bags no bigger than 12 by 6 by 12 inches and small clutch bags up to 6 by 9 inches are allowed. Backpacks and larger bags are not, and staff search every bag at entry.
- ID: A valid ID is required to buy alcohol and for age-restricted shows.
- Weather: The pavilion is an open-air, tented venue. The stage and seating are covered, but the concourse to restrooms and concessions is not, so pack a layer.
- Season: Concerts run mainly from May to October, so check the schedule if you plan a visit outside those months.

Getting There And Parking
The venue does not offer on-site parking, and Seaport traffic can be heavy before a show, so plan extra time. Nearby garages and lots exist, and you can reserve a space in advance through parking apps. Public transit is simpler for most visitors: the Silver Line stops at World Trade Center, about 0.3 miles from the pavilion. Walk the Harborwalk along the water, then stop at the Boston Fish Pier at 212 Northern Avenue, a working commercial fishing pier built between 1910 and 1914. Plan Your Tour with Boston Sightseeing
A concert is an evening plan, and our buses run from about 9:30 AM to about 5:00 PM, so ride in the daytime and walk to Leader Bank Pavilion afterwards rather than counting on the bus for the trip home. Buses come roughly every 30 to 40 minutes depending on traffic, and the ride is narrated.
The Cruise Terminal ticket is the one that reaches this part of the Seaport. Stop 15 on the tour map is the Boston Fish Pier stop on Northern Avenue, the same street as the pavilion at 290 Northern Avenue, and Stop 14 is at the Black Falcon Cruise Terminal.
