Prudential Tower Boston
The city of Boston is known for its rich history, beautiful architecture, and bustling streets. One of the most prominent landmarks that stands tall amidst this vibrant city is the Prudential Tower.
Location
Located in the Back Bay neighborhood, Prudential Tower dominates the Boston skyline with its impressive 61 floors and height of over 750 feet. It is situated at the intersection of Boylston and Huntington Avenue, making it easily accessible from different parts of the city.
History
Built in 1964, the Prudential Tower was once known as the "Pru" and was the tallest building in the city until 1976, when the John Hancock Tower surpassed it. It was originally commissioned by insurance company Prudential Financial to be their world headquarters. Still, today, it is home to a variety of businesses, including law firms, financial institutions, and even a shopping mall
What to See
The Prudential Tower boasts incredible views of the city from its observation deck on the 50th floor. From here, visitors can see all of Boston's iconic landmarks, such as Fenway Park, the Charles River Esplanade, and the historic North End. The deck also features audio tours, interactive exhibits, and a gift shop where you can pick up souvenirs to remember your visit.
Nearby Attractions
While the Prudential Tower is definitely a must-see attraction in Boston, there are plenty of other interesting places to explore nearby. Right across the street is the beautiful Christian Science Plaza, which is home to the Mapparium - a three-story stained-glass globe that offers a unique view of the world. Just a short walk away is Newbury Street, known for its high-end shopping and charming brownstone buildings. And if you're in the mood for some greenery, head over to the Boston Public Garden or the Boston Common, both just a few blocks from the tower.
