New England Holocaust Memorial

The New England Holocaust Memorial is an open-air memorial located in Boston, Massachusetts. This one-of-a-kind memorial honors the memories of those who lost their lives during the Holocaust.

Location and History

This stunning memorial is situated between Union Street and Congress Street. It was built in 1995 to honor the millions of victims who lost their lives during the Holocaust. The memorial consists of six glass towers, each over 54 feet tall and inscribed with numbers representing the six million Jewish victims.

What to See?

As you approach the memorial, you will be greeted by a powerful quote from Holocaust survivor Elie Wiesel: "For the dead and the living, we must bear witness." You will then walk through an entryway adorned with a timeline of events leading up to and during World War II. From there, you will enter the memorial's central area, where you can see the six towers and their powerful inscriptions up close.
